What you need
- A case with the data the template needs
- A template whose input categories match the case's file categories
On desktop
The review modal pins an Autofill rail to the right of the file preview. The rail shows the template picker, a "Use special instructions" checkbox, and a single primary Autofill button. The rail is the canonical entry point — there's nothing to discover.
- Open the case in the dashboard.
- Open a file in the review modal.
- In the right-side Autofill rail, pick a template.
- (Optional) Tick Use special instructions if you want to give the run an extra natural-language hint. A textarea appears in the prompt step.
- Click Autofill.
- If the template has form questions, fill them in and click Run Autofill.
- The output PDF appears in the case's Outputs section.
The kebab (...) menu in the modal header still owns Re-extract and Share. On desktop, those actions live in the kebab; Autofill lives in the rail.
On mobile
Mobile collapses everything into the kebab (...) menu in the modal header — tapping it opens a bottom drawer with the template picker, the Autofill, Extract/Re-extract, and Share buttons, and the Use special instructions toggle.
What happens after you click Autofill
If the template has form questions or you enabled special instructions, the preview pane swaps to a prompt: any required fields, an optional Special AI Instructions textarea, and a Run Autofill button. Submit it to start the run.
If there are no form questions and special instructions is off, autofill runs immediately.
