Lite autofill — the Quick Fill card in the template studio sidebar — runs a template against a single uploaded PDF without creating a case. Use it to test templates or generate one-off documents.

It's the same fill engine that runs on cases. The only difference is bookkeeping: there's no case to host the result, so the output downloads straight to your computer.

What you need

  • A template open in the template studio
  • A source PDF you want to fill (or extract from)

When to use it

Lite autofill skips the case lifecycle. There's no extraction history, no merge logic, no activity timeline. You get a generated PDF.

Use it for:

  • Testing a new template — see if the field placements work without polluting your inbox
  • One-off generation — fill once, no need to track it
  • Quick validation — check that field mapping holds against a real document

Step by step

  1. Open the template in the template studio.
  2. In the sidebar, find the Quick Fill card.
  3. Click Choose Source PDF and pick a file.
  4. (If Drive is connected) tick Also save to Google Drive.
  5. Click Fill & Download. The PDF generates and downloads automatically; if Drive is enabled, a copy uploads there too.
