Pick a field type that matches how the value should be captured and rendered. Text is the default; number, currency, date, select, checkbox, batch, signature, address, and image are also available.

Available types
text — single-line text. The default. Auto-grows to multiple lines once the value contains a newline or runs past ~180 characters. Use for names, IDs, and free-form values like Vendor Name or Permit Number.
number — numeric value with optional format (percent, count).
currency — money value with currency formatting. Use for prices, totals, fees.
date — calendar date. Stored as MM/DD/YYYY regardless of how it was captured. Use for due dates and event dates.
checkbox — boolean true/false.
select — single value from a fixed list of options.
option_group — multi-select or radio-style choice. Like select but renders differently on the canvas.
batch — repeating row field. Use for line items where the row count varies per case.
multi — container for grouped sub-fields. Use to group related values together.
signature — captures a drawn signature.
address — multi-part container for street, city, state, zip.
image — embedded image, uploaded once and reused at fill time. Use for logos, stamps, or scanned signatures.
